First Stop: The Azores

The first stop on our transatlantic journey is the Azores, an archipelago belonging to Portugal.  (At this point we will have had 6 days at sea to play Mah Jongg!)

We stop first in Horta, a city in the western part of the archipelago.

From Horta you can take a panoramic drive to view the crater at the center of the island. (3000 Ft. elevation)
On the return to Horta you'll have a magnificent view of Capelinhos, the volcano that rose from the sea in 1957.

Second stop:  (Next day)  Ponta Delgada, Azores.  More about that city later.

If any of you need more info about the cruise, just email and we'll point you in the right direction.  If you've booked the cruise, let us know!

Something for Everyone...Even Comedy At Night!!

We are so excited about the cruise we are planning because there will be something for everybody!

First of all, the price is wonderful!

For sure, we plan to play Mah Jongg every sea day, for several hours each day.  And we would love to get as large a group as possible to join in the fun.  Though not a tournament, we already have a room reserved for our games, and we have also been tossing around ideas to make the games a little different from our weekly home games.

And if you’re not a mah jongg player??

There’s plenty of time on the sea days to take advantage of life aboard the ship with your friends and family.  It is truly a luxury to be able to disconnect and relax or take advantage of the many activities available on the ship.

This cruise is making 6 wonderful stops before its final Copenhagen destination.
We will be posting information about each stop over the next few weeks.

New Information about the Cruise!

We are delighted to find that there are so many kindred spirits out there who like to cruise and play Mah Jongg....just as we do.  We are so pleased at the outpouring of interest in taking this cruise with us.  We know that this will be so much fun and an opportunity to meet new Mah Jongg players.

Scroll down to see cruise details and itinerary....

Here's an update on what's new:

  • Yes, they will provide a Passover Seder.  Once you are booked, you'll need to tell the cruise line and they'll arrange it.
  • Today we reserved the Half Moon card room for Mah Jongg games.  It will be ours on every sea day from 9AM until 4 PM.  Of course it can be used for 'pick up' games as well at other times.

  • We're starting an email list of possible participants.  Send us you name, email, and status:  booked or considering and we'll put you on the list. Email to:
  • Based on your responses, we can start thinking about options for organizing our games.
